Round Rock ISD's vision, mission, goals and core beliefs can be found in the Strategic Plan [PDF], the district's strategic plan. The Strategic Plan also includes a profile of characteristics that students who graduate from RRISD will be able to demonstrate.

About 41,000 students currently attend the district's four high schools, nine middle schools, 30 elementary schools, and three alternative learning centers. During the past five years, the number of students has increased by nearly 21%, and the annual growth rate of approximately 3.5% is expected to continue. Campuses in the district are designed according to a "neighborhood school" concept that seeks to insert smaller than typical schools into community neighborhoods.

The district has a diverse ethnic base with a student population that is approximately 26% Hispanic, 10.5% African-American, 52% Caucasian, and 11.4% Asian-Pacific Islander.

The annual dropout rate is just 0.1%. More than 85% of the district's graduating seniors take the SAT and ACT college entrance exams, scoring well above state and national averages.
