The Round Rock Independent School District Board of Trustees established a 15-member Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee subsequent to the successful passage of a bond election in November 2006.

The concept of a Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee was discussed within the Citizen’s Bond 2006 Committee during the Spring 2006 when bond planning was in the formulative stages. In June 2006, when the Citizen’s Bond 2006 Committee presented their final report to the Board of Trustees, they formally recommended to the board that a citizen’s committee be formed to review the status of capital projects, bond expenditures, project schedules and the timelines of bond projects.

The Bond Oversight Committee is chaired by Richard Torres and members are representative of all geographic areas of the district.

The Board of Trustees adopted a Bond Oversight Committee Charter in order to give the committee direction and guidance in its activities.
