This has been another challenging but inspirational week as I watch our team rise to the occasion in what, for most of us, are probably the most difficult professional circumstances we have ever encountered. This week we handed out thousands of laptops in preparation for at-home instruction launching Monday, and our Teaching and Learning team has done an outstanding job of providing guidance to our teachers as we jump into this new frontier together.
Think back to three weeks ago. What were the things that occupied your mind and caused you to feel down or not at your best? Chances are, we’d love to return to those times because we now know how drastically our world can change overnight, or by the hour and minute. My hope for each of you is that you are valuing some time in your day to focus on what is truly important.
Later today, I’ll be delivering a video message to our entire Round Rock ISD community, but I wanted you, my “immediate family” to see it first. I’m so glad to be on this team and part of this family with you. We are better together, even when we’re physically apart.
Thanks for reading. I’ll write again soon,
Steve Flores, Ph.D.
