Meet Gifted and Advanced Academic Services Coordinator, Michelle Moak

My name is Michelle Moak and I am excited to join Round Rock ISD as the new Gifted and Advanced Academic Services Coordinator supporting secondary programming. I am a native Houstonian having served 18 years with Houston ISD. I began my educational career in 2004 as a grant coordinator and entered the classroom in 2009 as a 5th grade reading teacher. The last seven years I served the Oak Forest community in northwest Houston at Frank Black Middle School. While there I supported GT students, advanced academic programs and the Fine Arts department as the Vanguard Dean.

I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin so returning to the area with my family after nearly 25 years has been extremely gratifying. When I’m not working, I’m hanging out with my husband and our four kiddos ages 16 to 6. As a family we enjoy Friday night lights, (Go Mavericks!), scouting the next amazing restaurant and exploring all the natural beauty the hill country has to offer.

Ensuring equitable access to quality education and advanced academic opportunities for all students is my passion and I am excited for this new journey to partner with and support the teachers, students and parents of Round Rock ISD!
