GOES – Sugar Skull Art with iPads and Pastels

Students in the Great Oaks Art studios put the new RRISD fine arts issued iPads to good use by using Nearpod to learn about the day of the dead celebration and sugar skulls.  After soaking in this information, they took digital self-portraits that were unique and close up. These images were then printed in black and white and oil pastels were layered on top to create the illusion that their face was actually and traditionally decorated in the dia de los muertos style.
