Sommer Elementary School 
Hi All!
We have had an amazing first full week back at school! Our students have quickly fallen into routines as they transition within the building, and our Kindergarteners are Leaders as they walk through the halls from place to place. Classes have built communities as they have established social contracts, met in Morning Meetings, and set personal and class goals for the year. We are so blessed to have such amazing Stallions on our campus! Thank you for sharing your children with us!
News from your Sommer Library
Summer Reading Beach Blanket Bingo–please be sure to turn in your Beach Blanket Bingo Sheets to your teacher or the library by August 27th. Prizes will be distributed in late September.
Birthday Books–Would you like to donate a book to the library in honor of your child’s birthday? For $15, we will allow your child to choose a brand new book and label it with your child’s name and birthdate. They will get to check it out first before it gets added to our collection. Flu Clinic:
Healthy Schools is again providing a Flu Clinic this year. Flyers and flu consent forms were sent home with students in yesterday’s Thursday folders. The flu clinic will take place on our campus on Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 7:45 am-10:45 am.
More logistics on the clinic will follow as the date approaches.
Running Club Starts Next Week!
7:10-7:30 AM
- 1st and 2nd Grades-Mondays and Wednesdays
- 3rd-5th Grades-Tuesdays and Thursdays
- NO Running Club on Fridays
- Kindergarten will start in October.
PE Reminder: ALL students should wear tennis shoes on PE days!!
Car Riders:
- Please help us speed up our car line by having your child memorize his number and reminding him to listen for her number while she is waiting.
- Need a car Number?? Come by the office. The youngest will get the number and all students will receive backpack tags.
Second Cup of Coffee w/the Principals:
Come join the Patsy Sommer principals each month to hear about celebrations & innovative happenings at our school. Provide input and share your thoughts. The first 2nd Cup of Coffee will be held on Thursday, September 13. Morning session: 8:00 am and Evening session: 6:00 pm before the PTA meeting and Club Night beginning at 6:30 pm.
