Spicewood Elementary School Author, Trevor MacKenzie, joined our staff on Monday for our professional development day, providing a personalized kickoff to our campus book study, Inquiry Mindset. The day was filled with great opportunities for professional collaboration, reflection, and time for teachers to tinker in their practice. Additionally, their final reflection was facilitated by exploring Flipgrid, a video discussion platform, as a way to share and discuss how they exemplify the characteristics of an inquiry teachers and which ones they are working to sharpen. We are looking forward to continuing our work with the Inquiry Mindset in order to “empower our learners with the tools, understanding, and skills to make a difference in the world”.
