A report on student performance compiled through the state’s Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) will be presented during the Tuesday, January 13, 2015 meeting of the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees. The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m at the Round Rock High School Lecture Hall, 300 Lake Creek Drive, Round Rock.

The TAPR compiles a wide range of information on student performance in each Texas school and district.

Performance measures include State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness  (STAAR) results by grade, subject and student group; dropout and attendance rates; completion of  advanced high school classes and graduation programs; and participation in college admissions tests.

Performance indicators are disaggregated by ethnicity, economic status, special education and limited English proficiency.

The reports also provide information on school and district staffing, programs, student discipline and demographics. Much of the data is collected through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS). Each year, school districts must submit student, staff, demographic and program participation data electronically in a standardized format.

Parents will receive the School Report Card, a condensed version of the TAPR, in the next few weeks per state requirement.

This is the second year for TAPR, which replaced the previous Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) report.

The  Accelerated Instruction Evaluation, which evaluates the effectiveness of accelerated instruction programs for high school students,  will also be discussed at the January 13 meeting.

The community is invited to attend the meeting and share comments with Trustees.
