Students from Brushy Creek and Sommer elementary schools placed among the top in the world during the Global Finals of Destination Imagination held May 25-27 in Knoxville, TN.

The #SommerSuperStallionSilly6 saw their second year placing in the top 10 by placing fifth in their respective category. With this year’s placement, the team set a record for their best performance yet as they took sixth last year during the competition.

With over 15 countries competing, Destination Imagination is one of the largest tournaments in the world that tests students’ creativity.

Scientific Challenge

  • #SommerSuperStallionSilly6, fifth place, Sommer Elementary School: Zachary Adams, Nila Arunkumar, Kaitlin Chong, Audrey Johnson, Emily Lam and Krithi Prabhu.

Technical Challenge

  • The Quirky Quadruple, 11th place, Sommer Elementary School: Surya Arunkumar, Topher Beauchamp, Aditya Bura and Akshara Jayakumaran

Improvisational Challenge

  • Di Best Dizzy Dinosaurs, 11th  place, Sommer Elementary School: Nila Arunkuma, Surya Arunkumar, Anuj Bhatt, Prisha Mohan, Priya Parekh and Kavin Sankar.

Engineering Challenge

  • TAGJAMZ, 26th  place, Brushy Creek Elementary School: Jonah Evans, George Hudson, Andy Quarnaccio, Zachary Reed, and Madeline Szymczyk.
