Local elected officials joined the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees to conduct the ceremonial swearing in for Trustee Steven E. Math during their regular meeting on Dec. 21.

Math was officially sworn during the November regular Board meeting where the Board approved his selection as the replacement for the Trustee Place 6 Position.

Math currently works as the Senior Vice President of Underwriting and Field Operations at Texas Mutual Insurance Company and has served the District previously as a member of the 2016 Citizen’s Bond Committee and as a volunteer to the Westwood High School Band. He is a parent of the Westwood community and is a graduate of the Massachusetts Technology Institute (MIT) and the University of Texas at Dallas.

The Board also voted on leadership for the upcoming year. Diane M. Cox, Nikki Gonzales and Suzi J. David will continue to serve as Board President, Vice President and Secretary, respectively.

“I am honored and thankful to have been chosen to continue to serve Round Rock ISD as board president,” Cox said. “We have a dedicated group of trustees and I look forward to continuing to collaborate with each other to ensure that our students have the best opportunities possible and that each child leaves Round Rock ISD with a world-class education.”

Cox has served on the board since 2005 and had served as the Board President this past year.
