Future farmers and agricultural innovates have a new space to call home in Round Rock ISD. The McNeil High School agriculture science facility is now open for student use.

The District constructed the facility as part of Phase 1 of the school’s Master Plan with funding from Bond 2014. The construction included two classrooms, a kennel area, an office, an animal wash station and a barn with more than 50 pens for swine, sheep and goats.

Landscaping around the facility will be completed in the coming weeks. Additional parking was also added.

Round Rock ISD recently received permitting to continue Phase 1 Master Plan construction this summer to renovate the front building areas that will house special education, administration and fine arts. The campus Master Plan, funded through Bond 2014, was partially delayed due to a backlog of projects at U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The delay occurred on the Travis County side of McNeil High School, which is split on the county line with Williamson County.

Phase 2 of the McNeil Master Plan appears in Proposition 1 of the May 6 Bond Election. The phase includes the renovation and construction of classrooms, athletics areas, Career and Technical Education space and public areas like the cafeteria.
