Round Rock ISD named Lynda Garinger the principal of Hopewell Middle School.

Garinger served as the assistant principal of Cedar Valley Middle School since 2011 and previously taught eighth-grade language arts at Canyon Vista Middle School. She has a total of 20 years of experience in education and replaces Karl Waggoner who was named the District’s Associate Director of Administrative Projects.

“I am honored to serve as the principal of Hopewell Middle School and look forward to becoming a member of the Hopewell family,” Garinger said. “Reflecting on my 20 years in education, it is clear that everything I have been part of has guided me to and prepared me for this leadership opportunity.”

A graduate of Chapman University in California, Garinger earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She continued her education at Lamar University where she earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.

“Lynda Garinger is an excellent and experienced school leader who advocates tirelessly for public education and student success,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores said. “She has a strong reputation for building quality relationships with her staff, students and community and we look forward to seeing that level of leadership at Hopewell Middle School.”

Hopewell is located at 1535 Gulf Way in Round Rock and has a current enrollment of 1,045.
