At-home Online Learning – Learning goes on.
Monday marked the first day of at-home online learning. We are incredibly proud of our students, families, and staff for your patience, flexibility, and resilience as we endeavor, together, in this new opportunity.
Our Parent Guide to At-Home Learning offers tips for how to prepare students for the at-home learning environment. The guide also includes a Google Classroom parent’s overview video.
At-home learning is new, different, and temporary. We eagerly await to resume instructing, guiding, and encouraging students in-person on our campuses.
Printed take-home packets will continue to be available at our curbside breakfast and lunch distribution sites for students who would prefer printed materials or who may continue to have limited access to devices or the Internet.
Need-based Chromebook Distribution
Last week we distributed 7,500 Google Chromebooks for families who didn’t have regular access to online learning devices. Since inclement weather interfered with our final distribution day, the event will be rescheduled. Communications about the rescheduled distribution day will be sent out through District communications.

April is National Library Month:
Library Services at Round Rock ISD provide students free, 24/7 online and mobile access to over 2,000 e-books and 34 subscription research resources, in English and Spanish. The resource-rich digital databases, include Mackin Via, EBSCO e-books, Follett Shelf and others.
All you need is your Round Rock ISD student ID to access thousands of FREE, ebooks, audiobooks and more! Students use their student ID as user name and password. Access and browse online E-books.

MEAL SERVICE during school closures
No meal service on Friday, April 10.
Originally scheduled as a non-instructional school holiday, meal service will not be provided on Friday, April 10. During service on Thursday, April 9, Food Services will offer weekend meals and Monday’s breakfast.
Weekday meal service is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 13 locations. Students pick up lunch for the day and breakfast for the following morning.
NEW*** With verification, children are not required to be present for parents to pick up meal(s). The District is required to verify student eligibility for each meal. This means that parents/guardians can pick up meals for students without the child being present, and each meal must provide verification of the student’s eligibility.

Go Noodle
Ascension Seton donated over $68,000 to Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation to purchase Go Noodle with GoNoodle: Good Energy at Home for every elementary class in the District. GoNoodle: Good Energy at Home is free premium content and learning materials, including movement and mindfulness videos, as well as downloadable learning resources and ideas for off-screen activities.
Ivy League Online Courses
Open a free Class Central account to access no-cost online courses from Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, and Yale. Across the eight Ivy League schools, there are more than 450 active courses from Computer Science to Art & Design and everything in-between.
Participate in a reading challenge | Now-May 15
The Round Rock Express is offering two general admission outfield lawn tickets to the July 5 baseball game to children 12 and under who complete a reading challenge. Additional prizes will be awarded at the game to readers who reach certain milestones. Free. Full details on Reading Challenge.
Texas non-profit Community not Commodity has prepared a web page that lists resources to help families during the COVID-19 pandemic. Find more than 75 resources to help families with food, housing, utilities, job assistance and more.

Seniors, fill out the FAFSA. For students starting college in the Fall of 2020, the deadline to file your FAFSA application is June 30, 2020.
