Boys Cross Country Success: Regionals Bound!

Round Rock Boys Cross Country had great success on Thursday, October 11 as they competed in the District Cross Country Meet. Varsity will move on to represent Round Rock at the REGION II Cross Country Championships in Lynn Creek Park- Grand Prairie, Texas on Monday, October 22nd.

Varsity

Our Varsity Boys’ Team took second place finishing just one point behind Vandergrift High School. Senior Kobe Yepez hammered out the 1st overall finish with a time of just 15:14 for the 5K course at Old Settler’s Park.  Jacob Reynolds finished fourth overall with a new personal best of 15:38 followed by seventh place finisher Hayden Gray. Freshman Cade Stevens finished 14th overall with Tyler Duke just behind him with a 16:43 and a new PR.  Varsity boys team score was 41 points and had the fastest average time with the top five runners averaging just 16:06 for 5K.

JV

Our RRXC JV boys dominated District by securing the top four places overall and sixth as well!  Leading the JV boys team by over 11 seconds was RRHS junior Jackson Lafeber with a time of just 16:59. Securing second place was Aidan Rodriguez, third was Robbie Graves, fourth was Matthew Chimitt, and sixth place overall to ensure the win was Theo Phocas.

Freshman

Nudging out Vandergrift High School for first place our Round Rock Freshman were led by Jacob Brand taking fifth overall.  The sixth, seventh, and eighth places were taken by freshman Samuel Bjarnason, Edward Chase, and Ben Ausman. Adam Kipple Jr took tenth place overall as our fifth man to give Round Rock the top team score of 36, beating second by 5 points.
