A total of eight Round Rock ISD schools were ranked among the top schools in Central Texas by the 2016 CHILDREN AT RISK Annual School Rankings.
Cactus Ranch, Spicewood, Laurel Mountain and Canyon Creek elementary schools were named four of the top five elementary schools in the Austin area. Cedar Valley, Walsh and Canyon Vista middle schools were named three of the top five middle schools and Westwood High School was named the No. 2 high school in Central Texas.
“RRISD is committed to providing an exceptional education for our students,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores said. “We are honored to be listed among the best schools in the Austin area, further reinforcing our drive to be a destination district for public schools.”
The rankings are based on achievement, performance and growth indicators and college readiness data. The organization compiled data based on STAAR Reading and Math tests, graduation rates, college entrance exam participation and scores and Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate Programme participation and scores.
