Students at Jollyville, Great Oaks and England elementary schools were treated to a breakfast with special guests after winning the district’s National School Breakfast Week contest.
RRISD Food Services mascot Ace and The Round Rock Express Baseball Club mascot Spike visited the schools to congratulate the students on their win and play games.
RRISD Food Services challenged all district elementary school students to eat a nutritious breakfast during National School Breakfast Week in March. The top three schools with highest attendance won the special breakfast. One student from each school was also awarded a
Round Rock Express Junior Slugger Prize pack, which includes tickets to select games, a t-shirt and other prizes.
“Starting the day with a nutritional breakfast is a great way to prepare for a full day of learning,” Director of Food Services Kelly Grones said. “The breakfasts with Ace and Spike were an exciting celebration for students dedicated to eating healthy and starting the day energized.”
