RRISD to host 17th Annual Festival of Bands

Band members from across Round Rock ISD will gather October 3 for the District’s 17th Annual Festival of Bands, which showcases the talent of fine arts students at 15 schools.

The event, held at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex, will begin at 7 p.m. Marching bands and auxiliaries from Cedar Ridge, McNeil, Round Rock, Stony Point, and Westwood high schools will perform marching performances and lead middle school students in group performances.

District launches interactive map for boundary change impact

Families can now search an interactive map to see how the proposed middle school attendance area changes could affect them.

After parents and community members asked for an improved map, Templeton Demographics worked with the Communications team to create a web page for families to look up their address and scan through the District to see the current and proposed middle school attendance areas.

Board approves next step towards Bond 2017, seeks citizens’ input

The Board of Trustees wants citizen volunteers to evaluate and prioritize potential projects for a potential May 06, 2017, bond election. The Board approved a Citizens Bond Committee (CBC) Charter during its September 20, 2016, workshop, the next step in creating a bond proposal to fund new facilities, technology, infrastructure, and capital renewal and replacement.
