Students at Caldwell Heights, Purple Sage and Wells Branch elementary schools received a visit from two special guests last week.

Spike, the mascot for The Round Rock Express Baseball Club and Ace, RRISD’s Food Service mascot, visited each school to congratulate students for starting their day off right with a nutritious breakfast.

The three schools had the highest participation during National School Breakfast Week, which ran March 2-6:

  • Purple Sage recorded 36% of their student enrollment participated in National School Breakfast Week
  • Wells Branch recorded 33% of their student enrollment participated in National School Breakfast Week
  • Caldwell Heights recorded 23% of their student enrollment participated in National School Breakfast Week

Students who ate breakfast during the week were automatically entered to win a Round Rock Express Junior Slugger package.
