Employee Spotlight | Becky Madsen LVN, Herrington Elementary School

This is Becky Madsen’s 32nd year as a Round Rock ISD school nurse. Becky serves the students and staff at Herrington Elementary School. She is responsible for the care and concern of medical needs, responds to campus emergencies, conducts state-mandated screenings, and counsels students and families.

Through the years, she has been the campus nurse at Live Oak, Berkman, Robertson, Gattis, Forest Creek, and Caldwell Heights elementary schools, as well as Ridgeview Middle School.

Do you recognize Becky’s last name? If you do not know it from her longevity in the District, you may recognize it as the namesake of the City of Round Rock’s Clay Madsen Recreation Center.

The Madsen family name is well known in Round Rock. Becky’s husband is what she calls ‘old Round Rock,’ as he was educated through Round Rock ISD in the 1960s and 1970s. Xenia Voigt was his 1st-grade teacher, Claude Berkman was his principal in grades 3-6, and C.D. Fulkes was his high school principal.

Becky likes to spend time with her grandchildren in her spare time, watching their ball games and just being their grandma.
