Get a 90-day supply of your regular prescription medication

If you take a medication daily (known as a maintenance medication), you are now required to get a 90-day supply instead of requesting a refill month to month.

The retail pharmacy network for a 90-day supply includes Walmart, HEB, Randall’s, Costco, and other local pharmacies. However, it does not include CVS or Walgreens.

If you take a maintenance medication and get your prescriptions at CVS or Walgreens, you will need to change your pharmacy to mail order or one of the other pharmacies listed above.

CVS and Walgreens will allow you two grace fills to give you time to coordinate with your doctor to change where they are sending your prescription(s). After the second grace fill, you will be referred to mail order or to a participating pharmacy.

You can locate a local pharmacy to get the 90-day supply by visiting Express Scripts or by downloading and logging into the Express Scripts mobile app.

Please get in touch with your healthcare provider if you are uncertain if your current prescription(s) qualifies as maintenance medication under the Smart90 program.

If you have questions, contact Express Scripts RxBenefits Member Services at 800-334-8134 or e-mail customer care.
