Members of the Citizens Bond Committee (CBC) met April 24 at McNeil High School to begin their charge of examining potential projects to recommend to Board of Trustees for a future bond.  This is the fifth meeting of the CBC. The previous four led up to a recommendation to the Board of Trustees last week that a November Bond Election be considered.

The meeting began with CBC Chair Kris Parker reviewing the recommendation the Board of Trustees made during their April regular meeting to request project recommendations for a potential November bond. He also shared future meeting dates for the CBC that include:

April 30

  • Hernandez Middle School, 901 Sunrise Road in Round Rock
  • Tour: 5:30 p.m.
  • Meeting Start: 6:30 p.m.

May 16

June 6

  • Chisholm Trail Middle School, 500 Oakridge Drive in Round Rock
  • Tour: 5:30 p.m.
  • Meeting Start: 6:30 p.m.

June 12

  • Voigt Elementary School, 1201 Cushing Drive in  Round Rock
  • Tour: 5:30 p.m.
  • Meeting Start: 6:30 p.m.

The District’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Randy Staats also presented on the cost of opening new schools and Chief Operations Officer Terry Worcester and Alan Albers, a consultant for the District, provided guidance on process for the upcoming work.

Subcommittees were then able to meet to discuss their respective scopes, goals, needs and next steps.
