The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees has updated the guidelines for sharing public comments during regular or called meetings.

Starting with the Regular Board Meeting on Dec. 12, anyone wishing to address the Board must do so in person. Speakers will still have 2 minutes to make their statements, and all public comments must relate to an agenda item.

To communicate directly with Trustees at other times, the community is encouraged to email or call the Board via Let’s Talk. The platform is already in use throughout the district as a way for students, staff and families to share feedback with staff and District leadership.

Board President Amber Landrum said that incorporating Let’s Talk into Board communications will create a true two-way communication system with the community.

“This creates a system that allows us to engage and help community members get the resolution that they’re seeking. This will increase transparency and will increase our commitment to ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks,” Landrum said. “We’ll monitor the progress and if it’s not working like we hoped then we will make adjustments.”

The Board of Trustees typically holds its regular meetings on the third Thursday of each month. However, because of the Winter Break, the December regular meeting will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
