October 24, 2018

We are planning some great educational experiences for our students on October 24, 2018.  Here is a little preview:

Freshmen

Students will be taking district assessments for English I and Biology. These assessments will provide teachers with valuable information regarding academic progress. In addition to these assessments, students will attend sessions on internet and social media awareness and dating violence prevention.

Sophomores & Juniors

Students will take the PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test). The PSAT measures critical reading, math problem-solving and writing skills developed over many years and will take approximately four hours to complete. Following the exam, students will participate in distracted-driving and dating-violence prevention sessions.

Seniors

Students who have not completed the hands-only CPR training that is a graduation requirement will have an opportunity to complete the training on this day.  Additional senior activities will include TSI testing, ASVAB testing, career/tech industry field trips, and distracted driving sessions.

Based on the rotating schedule we will follow, we are discouraging parents from picking their students up early.  Parents should understand that there will be long lines and extended delays for students to be sent to the office to meet their parents as we will not have office aides available to take passes to students.  Students will not be released from classes until their parents arrive to sign them out in the front office.  We will not have pre-arranged pick up on October 24, 2018.
