Jerrod Gertsema has been named the new principal of Success High School.

Gertsema has served as the assistant principal of Success since 2013. During that time, he supported individualized instructional models to ensure students meet the requirements for graduation. This led to the highest summer graduation rates in four years during Summer 2020. He also played an integral role in piloting the no-cell phone program in classrooms that led to a 54 percent increase in the number of courses completed. He has a total of 16 years of experience in education, eight of those years as a classroom teacher.

Gertsema is also a graduate of the District’s Team One Program, designed to provide aspiring principals with professional development relevant to the principal role.

“I’m excited to continue my servant leadership and personal and professional growth as the Principal of Success High School,” Gertsema said. “I look forward to collaborating with all of Round Rock ISD’s leaders and the staff, community, parents and students at Success to seek continuous improvement to ensure equitable opportunities for all.”
