Over three million dollars have been brought back to Round Rock ISD through sales of surplus assets, goods and electronics over the last two years. These funds have gone to serve students and staff as the revenue was placed directly back in the District’s general fund, which is used to fund supplies for students and staff, salaries and utilities.

The amount was made possible through partnerships with GovDeals.com and Vantage Point, the District’s contracted vendor for the recycling and disposal of surplus electronics, computers, and devices.

“We are extremely proud to have raised over three million dollars through the sale of surplus assets,” said Daniel Poolman, director of purchasing and materials management. “The best part is knowing that these funds will benefit the students and staff of Round Rock ISD. This accomplishment wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of our Surplus Specialist, Scott Elliott, and our Materials Manager, Wendi Randall.”

The District’s surplus program, which is managed by the Distribution Services Department, focuses on finding and utilizing existing resources to bring in revenue to the District and provide additional resources to classrooms.
