Melanie Solis has been named the new principal of Spicewood Elementary School.
Solis has served as the assistant principal of Caraway Elementary School since 2015 and before then supported student intervention and worked as a teacher at Pflugerville ISD.
During her time as assistant principal, she helped lead the campus’ equity efforts and redesigned the response to intervention process to better serve all students. She also developed plans for a schoolwide enrichment model to engage all students in learning beyond the classroom. She has a total of 17 years of experience in education.
“I am overjoyed at the opportunity to work alongside the staff, students, and community of Spicewood Elementary,” Solid said. “Together, we will ensure that students are at the forefront of our decision making and work towards creating a compassionate, creative, and successful learning environment for all students.”
