C.D. Fulkes, Deerpark, and Hernandez middle schools received a $10,000 Project Lead the Way (PLTW) grant to expand their pre-engineering programs. Round Rock ISD offers the PLTW engineering curriculum at participating schools.

The awarded grants will fund expanded student access and early career exposure to the engineering field, introduce new course modules, bolster educator training, purchase equipment, and increase field trip opportunities.

“These grants enable us to reach a broader student base and delve deeper into pre-engineering,” said Alisia Smith, Round Rock ISD career and technical education specialist. “With the invaluable support of PLTW and their industry partners, we are diligently developing tomorrow’s engineers.

John Deere and National Instruments are PLTW grant partners.
