Intel and Best Buy Georgetown presented Cedar Ridge High School with a $17,000 check on October 27 at their morning pep rally.

Cedar Ridge was one of nine schools chosen as the recipient of the donation, which will be used on six G16 Dell Gaming Laptops and Dell monitors, a $5,000 Intel cash grant, Generation eSports Curriculum, and Norton software.

The donation was made possible after Best Buy Georgetown participated in and won Intel’s summer learning competition, Intel PC Champions. Thousands of retail stores and sales associates from across the country participated. The winning stores then selected a local school to receive a donation from Intel on their behalf – which is how Cedar Ridge received it!

Special thanks to Nathaniel Purdy, a Cedar Ridge High School Alumni and Best Buy Services Experience Supervisor for North Austin Micromarket, who was present to help deliver the check.
