The Westwood High School Tennis team has cemented its status after earning back-to-back wins at the University Interscholastic League 6A State Championship.

This is Westwood’s second straight 6A team championship title and its fourth in the past six years. The team clinched the title in Waco with a 10-3 win over Houston Memorial.

“I’m just so proud of these kids,” said Head Tennis Coach and Assistant Athletic Coordinator Travis Dalrymple. “They were so amazing all season long and worked so hard for this. This team has an incredible culture that was so fun to be a part of. Every member of the team contributed to this win in a number of different ways. These kids are truly amazing, to win back-to-back titles, and four of the past six titles is a monumental accomplishment!”

Westwood Tennis also earned its 14th straight District title this year and was named the Region IV champions.

Congratulations to all!
