Grisham Middle School will host its inaugural Grizzgiving Community Dinner, a free, first-come, first-serve dinner for up to 600 visitors.
Carlos Lopez de Victoria, a Head of House at the school, came up with the idea for the project, which provides the school with an opportunity to engage with the community while highlighting the accomplishments of its students and the dedication of its staff.
“This dinner reflects our commitment to creating a vibrant learning community that encourages critical thinking and collaboration,” said Grisham Principal Kyla Mills. “It is a testament to our dedication to empowering every individual in our community to reach their full potential and make meaningful contributions to the world.”
Leslie Price, a behavioral interventionist at the school, helped get the student ambassadors involved with the project.
“They were super excited,” Price said. “We even have some of our eighth-graders using part of the event for their community project. This small community truly has a huge heart!”
The event is sponsored by the school’s faculty, staff, students, local businesses and community partners.
Grizzgiving meals will include turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, sweet potatoes, tea, rolls, and desserts. Dinner is 5–7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14.
