The Westwood High School Warrior Marching Band is making school history after ranking in the top 5 at the Bands of America Super Regional competition held in St. Louis late last month.

More than 60 bands from across the nation competed, with the Warriors placing third place overall.

“We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our students at the Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional this past weekend,” said Thomas Turpin, Director of Bands at Round Rock ISD. “The students represented our band program, Westwood High School, and the District with the utmost professionalism. Their hard work resulted in our highest placement ever at a Band of America Super Regional competition!”

The band also took home the award for Outstanding Music Performance in the preliminary round for Class 4A, as well as their first Band of America Caption Award.
