Melissa Ross is a committed education advocate, entrepreneur, and policy expert focused on supporting families and strengthening public education in Round Rock ISD. Known for her emphasis on factual and transparent education, Melissa prioritizes data-driven decisions to meet the diverse needs of all students. A certified, fifth-generation teacher, she led Westwood High School’s Visual Arts department for 10 years, creating an inclusive space where students felt supported and empowered.

Melissa applies her skills in strategic leadership, coalition-building, and problem-solving to drive impactful community initiatives. Beyond the classroom, she has served in numerous leadership roles, including on PTA boards and district committees, advocating for resources to enhance student success and guiding families through special education and 504 processes. She is engaged with organizations that proactively assist teachers, students, and families in need.

Melissa holds dual Fine Arts degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and resides in the Austin area with her husband of 22 years and their two children. As a board member, she is committed to fostering responsive, informed leadership that ensures every Round Rock ISD student is supported, challenged, and valued. Her work reflects her belief that exceptional education arises from meaningful connections, dedicated advocacy, and a commitment to community well-being.
