Student Transfer Requests

Z

If you are on a transfer, and you are not changing campuses, you do not need to resubmit.

Thank you for choosing Round Rock ISD. We’re glad you’re here. Our Round Rock ISD team is confident that all of our schools provide a quality, well-rounded education that meets students’ diverse needs. And we recognize that families may seek choices for their children beyond the school in their attendance zone. Round Rock ISD also welcomes students who reside outside District boundaries, space permitting.

Families of a child(ren) enrolled at a Round Rock ISD school or attending another school district may apply for their student(s) to transfer from their current ZONED CAMPUS to a Round Rock ISD campus of their choice, if space is available.

We evaluate each transfer request for space and availability in each grade level and/or program. The District will approve the transfer request if the campus concludes that staffing or classroom conditions can accommodate additional students outside their attendance zone.

Campus transfer approvals are related to school capacity and do not guarantee your student can enroll in their preferred program(s), classes, or coursework. In these cases, the student may be offered alternative programming, classes, or coursework. Early College High School is unavailable for non employee transfer requests.

  • Have proof of residence (utility bill, lease agreement or similar).

  • Reside outside of the District boundaries.
  • Your student has finished the last grade level at their transfer current campus and wants to attend another campus.
  • You are moving into the area from out of state/country.

  • Once enrolled, you will receive an email with your student(s) ID and directions to set up your student's Home Access Account.
  • You may get in touch with your campus registrar to confirm your enrollment.

Students can be denied a transfer if:

  • The selected campus has met student capacity.
  • They do not meet grades, attendance, or disciplinary expectations.

  • If a concern remains after working with campus administration to resolve and remedy the situation.
  • You have moved during the school year and want to stay at the current campus.
  • You're experiencing a daycare situation. (elementary only)
