Safety and Security Committee

The school safety and security committee provides the District with guidance related to safety efforts, drills, exercises, school safety, security audits, policy development, and training. The committee is made up of school district and community partners that collaboratively provide recommendations to the District’s board of trustees and district administrators.

Meetings

Public meetings will occur at least three times per calendar year. Once in the fall semester, once in the spring semester, and once during the summer break. Meeting notices will be posted in the same manner as notice of a meeting of the district’s board of trustees.

Membership:

  • Members will be asked to serve a two year commitment term to the committee.
  • Members will be chosen randomly from a list of volunteers split up by the learning communities.
  • Members are expected to attend all meetings. Any member missing more than one meeting per calendar year, without extenuating circumstances, may be removed from the committee and replaced.
  • The committee chair will work with other members to help choose volunteers and if a replacement is needed.
