What is one of your favorite memories as a student at Round Rock ISD?
My favorite memories have been hanging out with my friends at tennis tournaments. Playing tennis and watching matches with the friends I have made has been some of the most memorable and fun experiences I have had. Regardless of how the weather was, we would always find a way to make the best out of it and enjoy our short break from school. I will always be grateful for my place on the SPHS Tennis team and for the friends that I have made during these last four years.

Who has been your most influential teacher/educator, and why?
I have had many teachers who have helped and guided me from elementary to high school and I cannot thank them enough for all that they have done for me. I especially want to thank the IB teachers at SPHS (Ms.Eblen, Mr.White, Ms.Jeong, Ms.Miao, Mr.Thomas, Ms.Williams, Ms.Smalley, Mr.Francis, and Mr.Waldrop) for pushing me to become my very best. They have taught me essential life skills and I truly feel prepared for my future ahead. I also want to thank Ms.VCB for always supporting our UIL Number Sense Team and showing up on those early Monday and Friday mornings. Finally, I want to thank our tennis coach Matthew Perez for continuously driving me to become a stronger tennis player and athlete.

Who has been your most influential teacher/educator, and why?

What is one of your favorite memories as a student at Round Rock ISD?
One of my favorite memories is being the drum major for the marching band. I’ll always cherish the late-night Cane’s and In-N-Out runs after football games and competitions. Most of all, I’m grateful for the amazing friends I’ve formed 🙂

Who has been your most influential teacher/educator, and why?
The most influential people as a student and in my life are my parents. They have supported me through all my endeavors, hardships, and achievements. Thank you for allowing me to become the best version of myself. From giving me rides during the peak of marching season to advice over samgyupsal to celebrating my accomplishments with me, the list goes on and on. I am so happy and proud to be your daughter. Also, thank you to my elementary school TAG teacher, Mrs. Reed (or Mrs. Smith now). From oreo tasting parties to encouraging my curiosity, she sparked my love for math and STEM; Mrs. Reed planted the seed that would grow into who I am today and in the future.

What is one of your favorite memories as a student at Round Rock ISD?
My favorite memory in high school is performing at the 2024-2025 Full Orchestra UIL as a viola. It took weeks of early-morning preparation for some of my favorite pieces of music in Orchestra ever, mixed in with a lot of anxiety that we wouldn’t pull the music together in time, but we ultimately made a significant amount of improvement in a short time. In the end, I’m really proud of how we all did on stage and feel like we not only earned the UIL trophy, but truly brought the music to life.

Who has been your most influential teacher/educator, and why?
My most influential teacher has been Ms. Sozansky, my orchestra director, because she is pretty much my role model. She inspires all of us to be the most dedicated and talented we can be, all while maintaining a great sense of humor and a love of the process of learning. She has been there for me throughout all four years of high school, and because of her I have some of the most valuable lessons and memories that I will carry with me throughout the rest of my life.

What are your post-graduation plans?
This fall I will be going to ACC, where my plan is to take a lot of classes and find my true passion, starting with computer science and game development. From there, I plan on going to UT Austin.

What do you hope to pursue after you attend college?
My ambition right now is to go into the game development industry, where I can work with all of my passions including music, storytelling, visual design, and creative collaboration. Though I am interested in working in any specialization of game development, I can see myself being a leader of a creative team and helping manage various facets of the development process.

What is one of your favorite memories as a student at Round Rock ISD?
My favorite memories as a student at Round Rock ISD involve attending competitions. Whether that was with the UIL Number Sense team (shout out to Ms. Collins-Becker, who is the most dedicated and inspiring coach a team could ask for), the Stony Point Speech & Debate Club, or HOSA-Future Health Professionals, the opportunity to participate in these activities was a gift. Not only did I get to explore various interests, like mental math and healthcare events, but I made a lot of great friends and gained numerous mentors along the way.

Who has been your most influential teacher/educator, and why?
All of my teachers have been influential to me in some way. However, Mr. Foust was probably the only high school teacher I had in my freshman year who prepared me for the academic rigor which would come in the following years through his thorough teaching, assignments, and grading. I got lucky enough to be in his AP Macroeconomics course again senior year, and it became my favorite course thanks to his engaging teaching and silly jokes. He was also my Extended Essay advisor, helping me become better at academic writing and setting small goals for myself. If you want to learn and laugh at the same time, taking Mr. Foust’s class is the way to go.

What are your post-graduation plans?
After graduation, I will be attending the University of Texas at Austin to study neuroscience.

What do you hope to pursue after you attend college?
I hope to pursue a career in health sciences after college.

What is one of your favorite memories as a student at Round Rock ISD?
Most of my favorite memories in RRISD revolve around my high school theatre department. This year, in the Fall semester, we performed Our Town by Thorton Wilder. It was my very first show in the round, and the simple set and foley sound really let us bring magic into the show theatrically. As one of my last ever shows with my school, I am indescribably proud of the message we were able to share with our audience and wish to someday experience the same closeness and love I felt with that cast in future theatrical pursuits. To this day, hearing “In The Sweet By And By” makes me tear up– of all the things I’m leaving behind, the Stony Point theatre department will be one that I miss the most.

Who has been your most influential teacher/educator, and why?
Sunshine Parsons, my theatre director. She’s one of the most welcoming and human people I’ve ever met, in the sense that she is always real and herself no matter what. As a director, she has put on shows that I have endlessly enjoyed and granted me opportunities that have changed the course of my life in its entirety, but as a person, she has helped me to realize my own value, and opened up better ways for me to see the world. Sunshine has inspired me to pursue a Theatre Arts degree in college, and to become a better person on the whole so that I may do for others what she has done for me and so many other students at my school. I love her very much, and hope to come back to STP in the future to check in and see how she and the department are doing.

What are your post-graduation plans?
I plan to attend UNT for four years for a dual major in Psychology and Theatre, and then I will hopefully study for the MCAT and make it into med school.

What do you hope to pursue after you attend college?
I’d like to be a psychiatrist someday, or at the very least do something in the psychology field. If all of that falls through, I’d love to write books, do theatre, or teach.

What is one of your favorite memories as a student at Round Rock ISD?
One of my favorite memories as a student is competing in HOSA competitions as it allows me to expand my interests in the healthcare field. I’ve also met some of the nicest and most caring during my time in HOSA. Competing in HOSA has definitely helped me expand my social relationships with people in my school.

Who has been your most influential teacher/educator, and why?
Most of my teachers have been very influential to me, but Mrs.Eblen has really given me confidence in my ability to write. She is my IB English teacher and has taught me all of the key steps in analyzing texts, and formulating a good essay. Not only that, she also is always there to guide us in the right direction if we are ever lost or confused. To top it off, she’s one of the nicest person that I’ve met in my life, and has given me so much confidence in my own abilities.

What is one of your favorite memories as a student at Round Rock ISD?
Attending the IB Banquet! As an officer of IBSO, it was wonderful to put together a celebration for not only the graduating seniors, but also our amazing teachers, and culture in general! I am incredibly thankful to have had the chance to be in a program that cultivates curiosity and truly emphasizes and values education through a global lens. I also loved celebrating the year with peers and educators who were saying goodbye!

Who has been your most influential teacher/educator, and why?
I’ve had too many! But I would have to name Ms. Pullés, my 5th-grade social studies and ELA teacher. She saw beyond the nervous, perfectionist girl I was and encouraged me to take risks, especially in a language I didn’t know, because she believed in me when I didn’t. It is because of her, and other great teachers like Mr. Foust, Ms. Eblen, Ms. Cherry, Ms. Jeong, and Ms. Smith from Stony Point that I remain curious and strive towards excellence while remaining soft and kind, to myself and others.

What are your post-graduation plans?
I am pursuing a Cellular and Molecular Biology degree, at either UT Austin or Harvard University!

What do you hope to pursue after you attend college?
I hope to pursue a double doctorate (M.D./PhD.) in Cellular Biology and Abiogenesis, becoming both a scientific researcher and cardiothoracic surgeon! At the same time, I hope to continue my career as a writer and publish my next poetry collection, as I have my first book, “Apple Pies And Black Cherries.”
