Elementary Summer Learning

Eligible students will be invited to the Elementary Summer Learning program. If you have a question about whether or not your child may be eligible to attend, please call 512-464-5131.

The location of where a child attends summer learning is determined by the school he/she is zoned to attend based on residency.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Limited transportation services will be available from feeder schools and some designated neighborhood bus stops.


Caldwell Heights ES
Serves students zoned for Brushy Creek, Cactus Ranch, Caldwell Heights, Chandler Oaks, Double File Trail, Herrington, Old Town, Robertson, Teravista, and Union Hill

Callison  ES
Serves students zoned for Berkman, Blackland Prairie, Bluebonnet, Callison, Deep Wood, Fern Bluff, Forest Creek, Gattis, Great Oaks, Joe Lee Johnson, Voigt, and Wells Branch

Forest North ES
Serves students zoned for Anderson Mill, Canyon Creek, Caraway, England, Forest North, Jollyville, Laurel Mountain, Live Oak, Pond Springs, Purple Sage, Spicewood, and Sommer.

Bilingual/ESL Prekindergarten and Kindergarten
Program Focus: Students will receive language-rich, TEKS-focused instruction in this 120 hour State-mandated program.
Dates: May 30 – June 26 (Monday – Friday)
Hours: 7:45 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Location: Callison, Caldwell Heights, Forest North
Eligibility: Pre-kindergarten or Kindergarten students receiving Bilingual or ESL services in 2018-2019.
Fee: None

Language Support for ELL 1st-4th Newcomers
Program Focus: Students will receive support in developing linguistic skills and adapting to a new culture.
Dates: June 6 – June 26 (Monday – Friday)
Hours: 7:45 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Location: Forest North
Eligibility: Locally identified and invited recent immigrant students who have little or no English proficiency.
Fee: None

Student Success Initiative (SSI)
Program Focus: Students will receive TEKS-focused instruction in preparation for the third administration of the 5th grade Reading and/or Math STAAR assessment.  Dual Language classes for students who qualify will be included.
Dates: June 6 – June 26 (Monday – Friday)
Hours: 7:45 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Location: Callison, Caldwell Heights, Forest North
Eligibility: 5th grade students who have not yet met standard on Reading and/or Math STAAR test.
Fee: None

Extended School Year (ESY) Services through Special Education
Program Focus: Students receive instruction in order to maintain skills in their Individual Education Plans.
Dates:  June 10-13; June 17-20; July 15-18; July 22-25 (all weeks are Monday-Thursday)
Hours: 7:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Location: Sommer Elementary
Eligibility: Determined by each individual ARD committee
Fee:  None


Transportation Summer Learning
Transportation for summer learning will be provided for all elementary and secondary students from designated elementary, middle school and high school pick-up locations.   Note: There is no Round Rock ISD staff supervision at the bus stops.
