Grade Point Average and Rank in Class
Round Rock ISD calculates GPA and RIC for all students for use in determining valedictorian and salutatorian. It is a state requirement and honors the level of student work.
GPA/RIC is also used in college admissions and some scholarship applications.
Grade Point Average (GPA)
The GPA is a cumulative average of all semester grades earned in state accredited courses in high school beginning with the freshman year.
Rank in Class (RIC)
Class rank indicates a student’s academic standing relative to peers.
